Employees and society
In the interests of both sides, Stannol supports the professional development of its employees and promotes effective occupational health and safety as well as diversity. We also offer fair, performance-related pay and help our employees to achieve a good work-life balance through flexible working time models.
Our mission statement
Under the motto "Moving forward together", we developed Stannol's mission statement in 2021. This mission statement is the result of the joint work of managers and employees from different departments. It documents the common understanding of our cooperation and provides a binding framework for action, regardless of the area in which we work and the tasks we are involved in.
Creative idea management
As part of our ideas management programme, we encourage and use our employees' creative potential. We are particularly aware of the increased interest on the part of our employees – there have been many good contributions and suggestions. Many cost-saving measures and suggestions for improvement have already been implemented. For example, an energy saving potential of 14 percent has been achieved with our melting pots.
Occupational health and safety
As the most important resource, Stannol's employees make a significant contribution to the company's success. That is why we want to offer all employees a healthy and safe working environment. To ensure the physical and mental health of all employees, occupational health and safety focuses in particular on preventive, needs- and target group-orientated and health-promoting measures.
Social commitment
Social commitment is important to us. As a successful company with a long tradition, we want to take on social responsibility and get involved with people who need our help. As an expression of our regional ties, we are particularly committed to local projects in Velbert.
Every year, we provide targeted support for sustainable, charitable projects. This is done financially, but also with active, personal commitment through co-operation and the involvement of employees from all levels of the company.
Our networks
In order to effectively shape the path to sustainability, it is important to build up a great deal of expertise, but also to assess the challenges and realistically plan the use of funds and resources for SMEs. To this end, Stannol has built up a stable, constantly growing network. On the one hand, we rely internally on committed teams and co-thinkers and, on the other hand, externally on an exchange with competent partners who are facing the same challenges and live practical knowledge transfer.
Internal network
As a medium-sized company, it is not always possible to set up a separate department for sustainability. Due to the importance and complexity of the topic, the management at Stannol has addressed it itself.
As part of our Stannol Sustainability Circle founded in 2022 with interested parties from all levels and teams, we were able to raise awareness of the topic of sustainability across all departments. All employees are welcome in this group and can contribute their concerns and questions, as well as criticism and wishes, relating to sustainability. This format has proven to be a beneficial platform for sustainable dialogue and informal exchange and helps to motivate employees.
External network
We are an active member of various networks with different orientations. These networks are active both regionally and nationwide, focussing on sustainable action.
In joint meetings, campaigns and information sessions, sustainable topics can be discussed and scrutinised in a protected space, and approaches and experiences can be exchanged. There is regular dialogue and a great deal of involvement in joint activities and learning projects with other interested companies, some from the same sector and region. We use these networks to expand and pass on our knowledge, exchange ideas with other stakeholders and develop in a targeted and sustainable manner.
